I recently built an e-Coloring Book App to tackle a problem many parents face: keeping kids away from overstimulating videos and games. Designed for kids aged 3-6 (but fun for older folks too!), this app encourages creativity and skill-building in a constructive way. Here’s why I created it and what it offers.
Reason For Creating This App 🧠
No matter how much you keep kids away from screens, they come back to it. We can limit their screen time, which unfortunately often goes in watching hyper-stimulating content. So I wanted to convert their screen time into something productive. This app has a minimalistic yet colourful UI aimed at kids. As they learn to draw and colour, it helps them express themselves and also develop mechanical skills. I have also added a note to recommend using a stylus instead of fingers to help kids improve dexterity, thereby making it a great learning tool.

What the App Offers 🌟
Here’s what makes this app special:
- A design that is fun and kid-friendly. Simple and colourful, to keep young kids engaged.
- Works with mouse-clicks on PCs as well as tap on touch-screen devices.
- Quick start by choosing a blank page or from a pre-built template.
- Just enough colours and tools to spark creativity without being overwhelming.
- Full control with buttons to undo, redo, clear, or save artwork to let kids experiment.
Open-Source and Ready to Try 🌍
Like my earlier project, SpeakChat.ai, this app is open-source! Check out the code here. Please feel free to fork / contribute, I look forward to hearing your views. 😊
