It’s not just about how hard you work

I will tell you something I’ve learned with time.

If you pour one litre bottle into a 200 ML glass, what will happen to the water? The excess water will be thrown out, it’ll be of no use to glass. You’ll feel that you did your best in pouring all that you had, but the glass simply didn’t have the capacity to handle it.

Same is true for employers as well. Not everyone can handle our goodness. It’s not our fault that their glass is small. But yes, if we realise that the full capacity won’t be accommodated, then we should try not to fill in that glass. This we can know only with experience.

So, it’s not just about how hard you work. It’s also about whom you work for.
